Badly hit by the Sept 2019 storms but other than a few bunkers with washed away Sand & buggies out of action (damaged), you would not have known. Tee's, fairways & Greens were sublime.
This is pretty much the busiest course we play (apart from Mar Menor in our opinion) and the tee time was 15 mins late due to number of fourballs going out. We were queing on each and every shot which can be a pain.
Unfortunately as we flew back that night, we could only play 15 holes (4 hours were up)
Course itself really strong & highly recommend, but suggest an 8am tee time to avoid queues.
Edit by Club Murcia: Excellent review!
The staff in the pro shop were very friendly.
Course starts with a really difficult par 5. Hit it straight off the tee or you're in the water right or out of bounds left. The next few holes are quite testing as well so very hard to get a good score going from the first.
I agree with other reports that you need a course planner, I nearly put my ball in the water a couple of times of the tee without being able to see the trouble from the tee box. I would personally say water does come into play on about 14 holes from the white tees.
The course was better than I expected after reviewing previous reviews and would return again.
CM Comment: Very good review. This course is very much about position off the Tee than distance. Good positioning off the Tee can lead to very good scoring...and less lost balls!
CM Comment: Very good review!
Weather - sunny, light breeze.
Course was in OK condition. Importantly the greens were fast, pretty true and receptive.
Tees, fairways and some areas a little scruffy but generally didn´t detract.
Played off the back sticks - great test. Long & water on all but 2 holes so you´ll need to be straightish.
Get a course planner ´cos it´s not obvious where the water is.
Great pro shop - good stuff at good prices.
Busy round. Moved fairly well but did take close to 5hrs for a 3 ball.
Flat, easy walking. Buggy not needed.
Layout is very nice although beyond the course it´s not too pretty - if it´s golf you want it´s a good place.
Haggle on price. Deals to be had. We paid 60euros* - a little strong.
CM Comment: *Green Fee would have been much cheaper through Club Murcia. Water is not in play on all 16 holes when playing off the standard Tees but position (rather than length) off the Tee is the key to taking the water hazards out of play - Good review :-)
Editor: *Fairway Grass types remain dormant and brown in colour at this time of year. Turning green through March and April as the sun increases.
