Teams from around the world have tested themselves at the La Manga Club Pro-Am, in its first year of operation. Teams representing England, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Austria, France, Czech Republic, France, Israel, Netherlands, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and of course Spain participated in the first edition of the Pro-Am, held from 7 to 10 March 2014.
The 3 day competition was held at the South Course on Saturday 8 March, the West Course on Sunday 9 March and again on the South Course on the final day, Monday 10 March.
The winning team, out of the 24 teams taking part, was composed by James Ferraby Pro (PGA of Spain), along with amateurs Alfonso Grijalva and Russians Pavel Shestopalov, and Vitaly Samsonov with a score of 256 points.
The award for best Pro, was Dutchman Joost Steenkamer, who won with a total of 218 points. "These days have been very intense for me, I played with my father who is 75 years old and a cousin died this week. So I could do other than give my triumph." Steenkamer said.

Golf in La Manga Club is undergoing some exciting times. They began 2014 with the opening of the Leadbetter Golf Academy and in February the South Course witnessed the Senior Amateur Tournament.
The remodeling and improvements in Driving Range and Golf Academy are ongoing and the final is scheduled to open next June when the South Course will host new National Children's Tournament (Nacional Infantil, Alevín, Benjamín 2014).
